Many important faces of Akhilesh Yadav’s youth team, who won unopposed last time, could not even save their deposits this time. SP chief’s favorite face Sunil Sajan was able to get 400 votes by putting in full force when he entered the election fray, far from winning, he could not even show the courage to fight. Rajesh Yadav’s was reduced to 527 votes, the Sitapur seat from where SP’s Angad Bhadauria had won unopposed last time, the party suffered a humiliating defeat and the SP candidate got only 61 votes.
The bail of Dilip Yadav, who won unopposed last time from Agra Firozabad, was forfeited. He got only 205 votes. In Azamgarh, where SP had won all the 10 seats in the assembly elections, the SP was not even in a fight. In the clean sweep district of Ghazipur, the SP candidate left the field before the election. Arvind Giri, the face of Akhilesh’s youth brigade in Ballia, did not even have bail. On the contrary, new faces expressed their struggle. Gayatri Prajapati’s daughter-in-law Shilpa, who is contesting from Sultanpur, got more than 1100 votes.
So at the same time, Dr. Kafeel Khan, who came into the limelight with the Gorakhpur oxygen incident, also got more than 1000 votes. In this entire election, only Jhansi, Jalaun, and Lalitpur was the only seat. Where SP fought fiercely, the margin of victory was less than 600 votes. If it is said that even before the elections, there was frustration in the Samajwadi Party camp, then it would not be wrong. Because even before the elections, their candidates had started surrendering. It has become such a fact that in 5 seats, the SP candidates withdrew their nominations and the extent has been reached when Uday Veer Singh Dhakre, one of Akhilesh Yadav’s close friends, could not even save his nomination from the Mainpuri Etah seat.
So you can understand how deep the party is going through. The mistrust and ‘show-off’ within the party can be gauged from the fact that the scuffle with Udayveer came to light, but the local SP leadership was missing there. Therefore, it would not be wrong to say that how senior leaders and founding members of all the parties, including Shivpal and then Azam Khan, seem to be moving away from Akhilesh Yadav and the Samajwadi Party. Its direct credit goes to Yogi’s precise strategy, diplomacy, and political thinking, and if this practice continues, then the day is not far when the name of the Samajwadi Party will be “Sampradwadi Party”.
