Ever since the release of Don 2: The King Is Back in 2011, fans have been asking for its third installment but all they have gotten, is disappointment in return. However, the recent chain of events has fans convinced that Farhan has started working on his next directorial and it is Don 3. Not just that, fans are also convinced that Farhan has pulled off a casting coup by getting on board the original Don, Amitabh Bachchan along with Kajol for the Shah Rukh Khan starrer. The rumor started just after the legendary actor recently tweeted a photograph of a crowd outside a theatre after his film Don, which had been released in 1978.

Earlier today, there were reports that a script for Don 3 was in the offing. Well, we have confirmation that producers Excel Entertainment are indeed planning a sequel to Don and Don 2. Don 3 has a fair chance of being the film that reunites senior Don, Mr. Bachchan, and his successor SRK. Certain birdies also told us that Ranveer Singh was also on the list of the makers of the film but it is SRK and Big B who will be the ideal casting for the film.

There were reports in 2019 that SRK wanted to opt-out of Don 3 then as he was keen on being part of the Rakesh Sharma biopic. But since that space adventure, has yet, failed to take off, all eyes are now back on Don 3.
According to the source, Farhan has discussed the idea of Don 3 with his father Javed Akhtar (the original creator of Don (1978). “Like always, Don 3 is still in the early stages and the future of the project will definitely depend on what shape the screenplay finally takes, but yes, it’s confirmed that Farhan has started work on Don 3 script. Unlike the last few attempts to make a part 3, the idea this time around is too exciting to let go of, and everyone around is giving more than 100 percent to this project,” the source added.
Don was an official remake of the Amitabh Bachchan’s classic, which was eventually made into an independent franchise with Don 2. It has been ten years since Don 2, and fans are super excited for the third part of the novel franchise.
