Team India will confront Pakistan in the 2022 T20 Asia Cup opener on August 28 at the Dubai International Stadium (Sunday). Virat Kohli, the star batter, will also return to the international stage after a brief absence and will be eager to play well against the arch-rivals.
Meanwhile, Kohli is gaining popularity on the other side of the border when he posed for a photo with a die-hard fan who traveled all the way from Lahore, Pakistan, to catch sight of the star batter and take a photograph with him. The fan expressed his gratitude and congratulated Kohli for his antics on the world stage.
Teams are now practicing at the ICC Academy site in preparation for the competition. As Kohli was heading back to the team bus after practice, a fan called Mohammad Jibran charged at him but was stopped by security officers stationed on the ground.
Kohli initially continued heading towards the team bus as Jibran yelled his name and asked for a photo. Later, the 33-year-old met the Lahore fan and took a photo with him. The entire footage was released by a local Pakistani YouTube channel, and Kohli was seen taking photographs with other admirers.
“I am not a fan of anyone except Virat Kohli, for whom I have travelled from Pakistan in the hopes of getting a photo with him.” I had been waiting for this for a month, so when he finished his practise and was ready to return to his hotel, I gave it my all. Aside from being a fantastic cricketer, he is a terrific person. “He listened to me and accepted to my request to take a selfie,” the fan told PakTV.
