The trailer of Liger, which marks actor Vijay Deverakonda’s debut in Hindi cinema, and will simultaneously release in multiple languages in India, was unveiled in Hyderabad amid much fanfare on Thursday morning. Director Puri Jagannadh, producer Karan Johar and the film’s female lead Ananya Pandey were witnesses to the cheering by hundreds of Vijay Deverakonda fans who had gathered at Sudarshan, one of the popular theatres at RTC Crossroads, Hyderabad.
Vijay stated that he was overwhelmed with the reception, considering that it has been two years since he had a theatrical release and his previous film World Famous Lover was a no-show at the box office.
The trailer of Liger was unveiled by Vijay Deverakonda and the entire team. Vijay Deverakonda delivered some knock-out punches in the trailer, which made everyone excited. In the 2-minute-2-second trailer, we could see the South star as an MMA fighter doing high-octane action sequences. His chemistry with Ananya Panday, however, steals the limelight.
Mike Tyson makes a cameo appearance in Liger. The film will release in theatres on August 25 in multiple languages. Liger will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Written and directed by Puri Jagannadh, Liger is a sports film in which Vijay Deverakonda essays the role of a boxer. The film is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh, Karan Johar, and Charmme Kaur. Ananya Panday will make her Telugu debut with this film.
A few days ago, a mass song titled Akdi Pakdi was released. Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Ali, and Makarand Deshpande play supporting roles. Vijay’s character tends to stutter and has to take on opponents off and on the sporting arena. The trailer has the markers of a typical Puri Jagannadh film laced with masala elements. To Vijay’s character emphasizing that he is a fighter, Mike Tyson closes the trailer with the statement, “if you are a fighter, what am I?”
