Varanasi Court has taken a big decision on Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Gyanwide Mosque case. The court has ordered to appoint a commissioner. According to the information, the appointed commissioner will visit the temple-mosque complex on April 19 and will also do videography. During this, the court has issued orders to deploy security forces in the temple mosque premises. The petitioner had sought an order from the court for inspection of the premises, radar study, and videography. The Varanasi District Court has given this order on the petition filed in September 2020. Gyanvapi Mosque is situated near Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. Right now the Muslim community offers prayers collectively five times a day. The mosque is run by the Anjuman-e-Intrazia Committee. In the year 1991, an application was filed in the court of Civil Judge of Varanasi.
In this application, it was claimed that the place where Gyanvapi Masjid is situated, earlier there used to be a temple of Lord Visheshwar, and Shringar Gauri was worshipped. The Mughal rulers occupied this temple by breaking it and built a mosque here. In such a situation, the Gyanvapi complex should be vacated from the Muslim side and handed over to the Hindus and they should be allowed to worship Shringar Gauri.
It is also necessary to mention here that Gyanvapi Masjid does not have any dispute with Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust. The temple trust is not a party to this whole matter anywhere, nor even filed any petition anywhere. The self-styled god Visheshwar Paksha has been fighting a court battle as a third party for the last nearly three decades.
