It is believed that due to this friendship, Akhilesh Yadav is sending him to Rajya Sabha with the support of SP.
Jayant Choudhary will be the third candidate of the Samajwadi Party-backed (SP-RLD alliance) for the Rajya Sabha biennial election. The Samajwadi Party has already announced its support to Kapil Sibal, who is contesting as an independent candidate. While there are also reports that there is another SP candidate for Rajya Sabha Javed Ali.
The Samajwadi Party has taken the first step to strengthen the SP-RLD alliance for the Lok Sabha elections by announcing support to Jayant Chaudhary. Jayant Choudhary is expected to file his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha on Friday. Actually, RLD has eight MLAs in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and a candidate needs 37 votes to win the seat.
Meanwhile, if sources in the Samajwadi Party are to be believed, the party may field Dimple Yadav in the upcoming by-election to the Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat. The seat fell vacant after Akhilesh Yadav resigned from the Lok Sabha in March and opted to remain active in state politics.
