Pre-university ie 12th examinations are going on in the state of Karnataka, in such a situation, both the girl students who challenged the hijab ban in Udupi returned home without taking the exam. The reason was clear. They were not allowed to enter the school wearing a hijab. So, they decided to skip the exam. In fact, as per the directions of the High Court, the government had made it clear that the dress code will remain the same everywhere.
According to the court, as per the dress code of the school, the students will have to come to school wearing a proper uniform, they will have to follow it. Wearing the symbol of any religion was not allowed in the examination hall, the High Court had given clear instructions that any school or college has whatever dress code and students are allowed to come to the class in that and were granted, its compliance was allowed.
Meanwhile, two girls from Udupi, who have written to both the Chief Minister and the court, have asked that they should be allowed to attend school wearing hijabs. In such a situation, they once again reached the school to give the exam on Friday in hijab. But the school refused to admit them. However, an attempt was made to convince these students that it is very important to follow the order of the High Court and at the same time it is very important to give the 12th examinations as well. In such a situation, you can give the exam without a hijab. But both the girls refused to do so.
Both these girls went back home and both made it clear that they could not take the exam without hijab. The Tehsildar tried to convince both of them. But both these girls considered it appropriate to return home. Now they will be re-examined, or their examination has been postponed. According to the rules of the Education Department in this regard, then no such examination will be conducted. If the exam is missed despite giving the exam due to scrutiny or other unavoidable reasons.
