Congratulating newly-elected Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Turkish President Erdoan said he was confident that Pakistan-Turkey fraternal ties would further strengthen under his leadership. He said that Pakistan and Turkey were trustworthy brothers and wanted to forge closer relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked President Erdogan for telephoning and congratulating him and expressed his best wishes. On the other hand, greetings were also sent to him from India’s side, as well as he was also advised on terrorism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while writing a message on the social networking site Twitter, wrote ‘Congratulations to Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on being elected the Prime Minister of Pakistan, India wants peace and stability in a terror-free zone so that we can focus on our development challenges. and ensure the well-being and prosperity of its people.’

Shahbaz Sharif replied to the greeting message of the Prime Minister on Twitter itself. Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the congratulations, he said in his message on Twitter, “Pakistan wishes to have peaceful and cooperative relations with India. The pending issues between the two countries, including Jammu and Kashmir, need to be resolved peacefully. Everyone knows the sacrifice that Pakistan has made in fighting terrorism. Shahbaz Sharif is the brother of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He got the support of 174 members in the National Assembly and with this senior bureaucrat, Tauqir Shah has been made Principal Secretary to PM Shahbad Sharif.
