2-3 degree Celsius drop in weather:
Heatwave conditions prevailed across the country on Tuesday, except in some parts of North-West Rajasthan and South Haryana. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a drop of 2-4 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the maximum temperature in Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, and Haryana in the last 24 hours.
The heatwave won’t last for the next 5 days:
The department said that most parts of North-Western, Central, and East India are not likely to experience heatwave during the next five days. However, the maximum temperature will increase by 2-4 degrees Celsius in Maharashtra from Wednesday, while no significant change is expected in other parts of the country. According to IMD, after 5 days the weather will again increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius.
Torrential rain and hail warning:
A yellow alert has been issued in Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab and there is a possibility of scattered rain with strong winds in these places. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rain and hailstorm in Himachal Pradesh for the next three days. The department said that people can get relief from the heat due to rain. Earlier in the day, many parts of the state including Shimla received rain and hailstorm, bringing down the temperature in the state. On May 4, the department has issued a yellow alert regarding strong winds accompanied by hailstorms in Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur, and Solan.
