At the same time, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested a terrorist accused in the Sunjwan attack case. The NIA is said to have arrested an overground worker of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization from Pulwama district, in which a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer was killed and several others were injured on April 22.
In a statement, the NIA said, “(On May 25) the NIA arrested an accused person Abid Ahmed Mir son of Mushtaq Ahmed Mir, resident of Putrigam, PS Rajpora, Pulwama, in the case RC-03/2022/NIA/JMU. “
Two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival in Jammu on April 24, a joint of police and security forces claimed to have killed two suspected Pakistani terrorists “wearing suicidal jackets” during a nearly five-hour encounter near the Sunjwan military station in Jammu.
The entire case was initially registered as an FIR (No. 115/2022) on 22 April 2022 at Police Station Bahu Quila, Jammu, and was re-registered by the NIA on 26 April 2022.
An investigation has found that accused Abid Ahmed Mir is an overground worker of Jaish-e-Mohammed and the arrested accused was a close associate of Bilal Ahmed Wage. These were the handlers of JeM. He knowingly and voluntarily aided the other co-accused in the commission of the offense. The NIA said that further investigation into the case is on.
