Important decisions regarding the election of the new president and the formation of the federal cabinet in Pakistan are expected to be announced today. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had sent the names to Nawaz Sharif for approval. The PML-N insists that the PPP should fully share the government with key ministries, but the PPP is in the favor of giving the maximum share to allies. For this, proper consultation is being done.
According to sources, the cabinet will include Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Mufta Ismail, Maryam Aurangzeb, Saad Rafiq, Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Sanaullah, Khwaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Khurram Dastagir and Rana Tanveer Hussain. Maryam Aurangzeb has been given the green signal for the Ministry of Information.
The names of Muhammad Zubair, Malik Ahmed Khan, Parvez Rashid, and Hanif Abbasi have been finalized for special advisers and assistants. According to sources, Asif Ali Zardari has suggested Raja Pervez Ashraf’s name for the speaker while Bilawal Bhutto Zardari wants Naveed Qamar as the speaker. Khalid Magasi is likely to get the post of deputy speaker.

The PPP has been offered six ministries, including the Ministry of Law, Foreign Affairs, the Benazir Income Support Program, and the Governance of the Two Provinces. Shazia Murri’s name tops the BISP list while the names of Senators Afnanullah and Farooq H Naik are also under consideration for ministries.
