A Pakistani national trying to infiltrate India by crossing the International Border has been apprehended by the BSF. After which all the investigating agencies including NIA have become alert. The investigation so far has revealed that he had come to India to kill Nupur Sharma. 24-year-old Rizwan Ashraf is a resident of Bhauddin district in Punjab, Pakistan.
Confessions of killing Nupur:
Due to the promptness of the BSF, he was caught while entering the Indian border at the Khakhan check post in the Hindumalkot sector. During the interrogation of intelligence agencies, the intruder has confessed to conspiring to kill Nupur Sharma. Sri Ganganagar SP Anand Sharma said that the inquiry is still going on. During interrogation, Rizwan has confessed that a video of Nupur Sharma had gone viral on social media. On Nupur’s statement, a meeting of Mullahs and Ulemas was organized in Mandi Bhauddin district of Pakistan. In which the statement of Nupur Sharma was condemned. Impressed by the statements of the Ulemas, he made a plan to kill Nupur Sharma and reached the Indian border.
Google Maps was used to enter India:
Ashraf took the help of Google Maps to fulfill the plan. He first wanted to enter India from his home Mandi Bhauddin via Lahore but could not succeed in infiltrating from Lahore. After which it was trying to enter India via Sahiwal on the Hindu Malkot border of the district. According to the plan, Pak infiltrator Rizwan was going to enter India from Sri Ganganagar to Ajmer Dargah. Ashraf would have killed Nupur Sharma after offering a sheet at the Dargah.
Investigating agencies alert:
Rizwan, a Pakistani citizen, has studied up to class VIII from a madrasa located in Mandi Bhaudin. Along with Urdu, he also speaks Punjabi and Hindi languages very well. At present, the investigating agencies are busy interrogating him from different angles. It is also being investigated whether he is alone or else is involved in the conspiracy.
