Mukesh Khanna, the Shaktimaan actor, made a somewhat obscene comment on social media that did not go over well with netizens. On various levels, it was deemed objectionable. Mukesh has a YouTube channel where he expresses his outrageous views. He questioned the character of girls who ask lads for sex in his most recent video. He said that such ladies are not women, but rather owners of a ‘dhanda’ (business). Fans reacted angrily to him.
Mukesh Khanna remarked in a video aired earlier this week on his Bheesm International channel that women who want sex and ask for it aren’t ladies, but sex workers. Kya Aapko Bhi Aisi Ladkiyan Lubhati Hain? was the title of the video. While the entire video is disturbing, one phrase, in particular,in particular has sparked the greatest outrage. Mukesh Khanna states in the original video, “Koi bhi ladki agar kisi ladke ko kahe ‘I want to have sex with you,’ wo ladki, ladki nahi hai, wo dhanda kar rahi hai. Kyunki is tarah ki nirlaj baatein koi sabhya samaj ki ladki kabhi nahi karegi (If any girl tells a boy that she wants to have sex with him, she is not a girl, she is a sex worker. Because a decent girl belonging to a civilized society would never say such things).”
Many netizens chastised Mukesh Khanna for his remarks, labeling him’sexist.’ The actor warned guys not to get lured by women on the internet. He accused women of running rackets and blackmailing ‘innocent guys.’ He advised people not to be enticed by social media accounts that may encourage them to provide their naked images and then use them to blackmail them for money. He also admitted to receiving communications from accounts that appeared to belong to “young ladies” offering free sex. Mukesh also encouraged women to follow customs and stay within “limits.” He stated that in his younger days, women had the luxury of saying “no,” but today it is men’s turn to say “no.”
As a clip of his video went viral, people reacted to it in the comments section. A netizen commented, “When Shakti and maan dono leaves you (sic).” Another wrote, “sorry shaktimaan, this time you’re the one in the wrong here (sic).”
