In Punjab, the issue of changes in the recruitment rules of the Bhakra-Beas Management Board seems to be heating up. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has registered his reaction to the statement of Union Minister Amit Shah after the implementation of Central Service Rules in Chandigarh. Bhagwant Mann wrote in a tweet that the Central Government is engaging officers and personnel of other states and services in the Chandigarh Administration in a phased manner. Which is against the Punjab Reorganization Act 1966. Punjab will fight vigorously for its rightful claim on Chandigarh.
The issue of changes in the rules of the Bhakra-Beas Management Board has been in the news for the last few days. All the political parties of Punjab are opposing the change in the rules. Opposition parties claim that the interest of Punjab and Haryana will be harmed due to the change in the rules of BBMB. Now the newly-minted CM of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann has also registered his reaction on this issue.
Opposition parties have claimed that due to the change in the rules of BBMB, the rights of Punjab will be reduced. The Center had recently decided to abolish the permanent membership of Haryana and Punjab in BBMB. Earlier, as a member of BBMB, a member was posted from the electricity department of Punjab and a member from the irrigation department of Haryana. But after the newly amended rules of the Center, now members from other states can also be nominated for the post.
