Military career of Manoj Pandey:
In his military career spanning 39 years, Lt Gen Manoj Pandey has commanded the Engineer Brigade in the Western Theater, the Infantry Brigade along the Line of Control, the Mountain Division in the Ladakh Sector, and the Northeast Corps. Before assuming the Eastern Command, he was the Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman and Nicobar Command.In December 1982, Lieutenant General Manoj Pandey was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers (The Bombay Sappers). Lt Gen Manoj Pandey, an alumnus of the National Defense Academy, took over as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff on 1 February 2022 from Lt.General MOhanty, who retired on 31 January.
Not only this, during Operation Parakram, he led an engineer regiment in the sensitive Palianwala sector along the Line of Control (LoC) of Jammu and Kashmir. Key role in Operation Parakram:
After the terrorist attacks on Parliament in December 2001, a large number of weapons and troops were deployed along the western border as part of Operation Power. There was a state of war between India and Pakistan at the time of this incident. Lt Gen Manoj Pandey leads the Engineer Regiment along the Line of Control during Operation Parakram in Jammu and Kashmir. In addition, he has commanded an engineer brigade in the western sector, an infantry brigade along the Line of Control, a hill division in the highlands of western Ladakh and a corps in the north-east.
