At least four people, including three Chinese nationals, were killed while four others were injured in a suicide attack outside the University of Karachi’s (KU) Confucius Institute, officials said on Tuesday. Sindh IG Mushtaq Ahmad Mahar confirmed the death toll on a telephone call with Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. The blast took place around 2:30 pm on Tuesday. The banned Baloch Liberation Army(BLA) is held responsible for the attack. According to a spokesperson, three of the victims were Chinese Nationals.
The Chinese nationals were identified as Confucius Institute Director Huang Guiping, Ding Mupeng, Chen Sai, and Khalid, The driver. Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Army has announced that it carried out a blast in Karachi. A female member of the organization has carried out this attack. 7-8 people were in the van in which the blast took place in Karachi.

The nature of the blast is being ascertained by the police. SP Gulshan said that whether the blast was sabotage or an accident was being investigated. “A bomb disposal squad has also been called to determine the nature of the blast,” he said.
