For months, Shah Rukh Khan’s role as ‘Vanarastra’ in Brahmastra has been discussed. On Thursday, what appear to be photographs of the actor’s appearance in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy, were leaked online.
Fans on Twitter responded positively to Shah Rukh’s first glimpse as Vanarastra (influenced by Lord Hanuman). The film Brahmastra will be released in theatres on September 9th.
Recently, fan accounts on Twitter posted some pirated Brahmastra photos of Shah Rukh. A blood-soaked Shah Rukh was shown on his knees, doing his characteristic open arms posture, in one of the photographs released online. Golden sparkles could be seen escaping from his left foot. In another image, when Shah Rukh’s supposed Vanarastra figure flies through the air, a dazzling golden silhouette of Lord Hanuman emerges.
While it is unclear where the leaked images of Shah Rukh originated from, his followers are confident he will portray Vanarastra in the film. A user who shared the images on Twitter commented, “Leaks from most likely the second trailer of Brahmastra (showing) Shah Rukh as Vanarastra.” A fan posted a snapshot of Shah Rukh on his knees posing inside what seemed to be a library, writing, “Shah Rukh Khan in his characteristic Brahmastra posture. The only film worth getting psyched about.”
Previously, Shah Rukh was glimpsed in the Brahmastra trailer, which was released in June. The actor, according to them, was the one wielding a trident with fire surrounding him and the one with Lord Hanuman’s mystical lightning monster behind him. It was also revealed that Shah Rukh Khan will appear in Brahmastra.
Following the release of the Brahmastra teaser, Deepika Padukone fans began tweeting images of the character they believe the star would portray in the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt flick. Fans have uploaded photographs of the upcoming film’s ‘jal (water) character,’ thinking it was Deepika. A strange woman was observed going out of a river while a massive wave pursued her in the trailer. Her hand emanated blue energy. The character wore a crimson saree and matching top, as well as jewellery on her feet. The teaser, however, lacked a good shot of the woman.
