In the last 24 hours, 1347 new cases of corona have been registered, after which the number of active cases has increased to 16 thousand 980. Delhi started recording an increase in the positivity rate, going over 1 percent from April 4 onwards, soon after the masking mandates were removed in the state. Cases went up to 13 percent from yesterday’s number (1,204), and one death was reported while the positivity rate stood at 4.50 percent, according to data shared by the city health department. It was the sixth consecutive day that the capital recorded over 1,000 new cases in a day.
The daily positivity rate has also increased to (0.66%). According to the report, 2563 new patients have also been cured in the last 24 hours. If we look at the total figures, then the number of people infected with corona has increased to 4 crores 25 lakh 28 thousand 126. Apart from this, 5 lakh 23 thousand 693 people have died due to the epidemic.
The havoc of Coronavirus is increasing in the capital Delhi. PM Modi cautioned the state to stay alert regarding the spike in Covid cases in the country. This is clear that the COVID challenge is not fully over. Omicron and its subvariants can create problems as evident in the case of many countries in Europe. The subvariants are causing many surges in many countries. India has been able to deal with the situation better than many countries. Still, in the last two weeks, increasing cases in some of the states show that we need to stay alert,” PM Modi said.
In other news, amid a spike in daily Covid cases during the examination season, the Delhi University administration has given colleges permission to reschedule practical examinations for students with the virus.
