Along with this, wearing masks is now mandatory even in the capital Lucknow. In view of the increasing cases of Corona, the Uttar Pradesh government has become strict. Wearing of masks has been made mandatory in all the districts connected with NCR including Lucknow. On Monday, the Uttar Pradesh government issued an order saying that it will be mandatory to wear masks in all the districts of NCR including Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat, and Lucknow. The government said, ‘There is an increase in the cases of Covid in the state and some bordering the state. It is also affecting the districts of NCR. Cases are increasing here for the last few days. In the last 24 hours, 65 new positive patients have been confirmed in Gautam Budh Nagar, 20 in Ghaziabad, and 10 in Lucknow. The situation in these areas is being monitored closely.
The government said, ‘It has been made mandatory to wear masks in public places in NCR districts (Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat) and Lucknow. In these districts, the people left out from vaccination are being identified and vaccinated. The public address system is being used effectively.
During genome sequencing of samples of patients found to be Covid positive in NCR, only the Omicron variant of Covid has been confirmed. According to experts, it is possible that the number of cases will increase but there will be no situation of hospitalization or the patient becoming very serious. People are being made aware to follow Covid protocol. At present, the total number of active cases in Uttar Pradesh is 695. 83864 corona tests were done in the last 24 hours, in which 115 new corona patients were confirmed. In the same period, 29 people were treated and recovered. UP government said that we have to take full care and caution.
