There has been a huge explosion inside the Tata Steel plant in Jamshedpur, Tata. After the blast, there has been a stampede in the entire area and there is an atmosphere of panic. The workers were immediately evacuated safely after the plant caught fire and gas leaked. This incident took place at 10.20 in the morning. The incident took place at Battery No. 6 and 7 of IMMM Coke Plant. Two employees have been injured in this incident. The blast was so strong that a stampede broke out in RMM, Sinter Plant One, and Two.

A huge fire broke out after the explosion in the coke plant. Several fire tenders have been sent to the spot to douse the fire. Chief Minister Hemant Soren tweeted that the news of the blast at the Tata Steel Plant in Jamshedpur has been received. District administration officials are engaged in activities for the speedy treatment of the injured in coordination with the Tata Steel management.
An employee working in the plant said that first, he heard an unusual sound, followed by chest pain while there was no injury. It is being told that the employee suffered chest pain due to the leakage of poisonous gas, he is being treated at TMH. Confirming the incident, Tata Corporate Communication said, Sahitya Kumar of M/s SGB contract company was working on the spot. He was working on making scaffolding for the booster line at the coke plant. He heard a strange sound, some particles were seen flying in the air.

Corporate Communication further said that investigations are on to know the reason behind the blast. According to a statement issued by Corporate Communications, at around 10:20 am today, there was an explosion in the foul gas line in Battery 6 of the coke plant located in Jamshedpur. At present Battery 6 is not working and the process of removing it is going on, Lace and fire brigade immediately reached the spot and the area has been cordoned off, and the situation has been brought under control. Two contract employees have suffered minor injuries, and have been sent to TMH for treatment.
