Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was questioned for about three hours on Monday in the National Herald case. After this, he went straight to the ED office and reached his residence at Tughlaq Lane. According to sources, during interrogation, many questions were raised including about his bank account and Young India. During this, the Enforcement Directorate asked how they benefited from the deal between Young India and AJL. Apart from this, the agency officials asked Rahul Gandhi what was his role in Young India and how did he become a shareholder of the company. Rahul Gandhi holds a 38 percent stake in Young India Limited.
Rahul Gandhi was questioned by an assistant director level officer, while the entire process was under the supervision of the deputy director and joint director. Apart from this, an officer kept typing the answers of Rahul Gandhi during the interrogation. This is the first time that Rahul Gandhi has been questioned like this. Congress President Sonia Gandhi has also been called by the agency for questioning on June 23.
Meanwhile, Robert Vadra said about the issue of summons to Rahul Gandhi that the family is being harassed by these government agencies. He said that I had given answers to agencies 15 times and handed over 23,000 documents. He said that in September 2021, I had received 72 notices. This is one way how to harass opponents. This is the way BJP works.
Significantly, Rahul Gandhi had reached the ED office at 11:15 am today. Earlier, he had reached the Congress headquarters with Priyanka Gandhi from his house and then marched on foot to the ED office. During this, a large number of Congress workers and leaders were present with him. However, the police allowed only Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka to go to the ED’s office. All the leaders including Bhupesh Baghel, Ashok Gehlot, Randeep Surjewala, and P. Chidambaram were stopped outside.
On the other hand, in protest against this, Congress workers and leaders staged protest marches and demonstrations on the road. After this, many big leaders and workers including Congress party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot were detained.
Ashok Gehlot wrote on his Facebook post that Delhi Police has arrested him while going to the ED office. Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Jairam Ramesh, Mukul Wasnik, Digvijay Singh, Deepender Hooda, Pawan Kheda, PL Poonia, Gaurav Gogoi, Meenakshi Natarajan are being taken in a bus away from Central Delhi and taken to a police station somewhere in another corner of Delhi. But we still have the same enthusiasm and passion. Here, after the news of the detention of Congress workers, Priyanka Gandhi herself reached the Tughlaq Road police station.
