During this, they shouted slogans against the students of the left-wing and said, there is freedom of special thoughts, but when an attempt is made to break the Hindu phobic culture, there is violence. After the ruckus, the students reached outside the Delhi Police Headquarters to protest.
After the fight between the two factions, the ABVP alleged that the students of the Left tried to obstruct the Ram Navami puja. They had already hatched a conspiracy to throw meat during the puja and on seeing us, we were attacked by rods and stones. After which the atmosphere deteriorated. The whole matter is related to the clash between two groups of students at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). In which at least 16 people have been injured.
JNU administration has warned the students. The Jawaharlal Nehru University administration on Monday warned students not to indulge in incidents that disrupt peace and harmony on the campus. According to the case, clashes broke out on the campus on Sunday evening after students of Akhil Bharatiya Chhatra Parishad (ABVP) protested against non-vegetarian food in a hostel. The victims allege that on Sunday when they were cooking non-vegetarian food in their hostel premises. They were attacked by ABVP members and attacked.
These students said that they had suffered injuries during the fight. “They also attacked a chicken vendor,” he said. Meanwhile, ABVP’s JNU branch president Rohit Kumar said that he is not against non-vegetarian food served in the hostel mess. “Everyone is free to eat whatever they want. But he accused the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) of a well-planned conspiracy. According to the complaint given to the police by the Left students, it was claimed that the brawl started at 3:45 pm on April 10, when ABVP students clashed with the vendors who brought meat into the canteen of Kaveri Hostel when they wanted to intervene, the ABVP started fighting after arguing and shouting slogans.
The police have registered an FIR against those involved in the attack. Police have said that security has been tightened at the university to maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents. Several police teams have been deployed outside the campus. According to a police official, “We will certainly depute our staff on the campus as per the request of the university.”
The police said that another FIR was registered on the complaint received Monday afternoon from a group of students who are members of ABVP against unknown JNUSU, SFI, DSF students.”Based on the complaint, we have registered an FIR under sections 323, 341, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code,” the DCP said, adding that further investigation is on to collect factual and scientific evidence and identify the culprits. The right-wing ABVP denied the charge and claimed that “Leftists” obstructed a puja organised at the hostel on Ram Navami.
