Keeping in mind the safety of women, the Yogi government has given relaxation in the powers contained in the Factories Act 1948. Under this, women employees will now be able to work only of their own free will after 7 pm. No institution or company will be able to compel them to work.

The employer has to ensure that toilets, bathrooms, change rooms, drinking water, and other facilities are near the workplace. During this period, at least four women workers will have to be allowed to work in the premises or in a specific department simultaneously. The recruiter will have to take appropriate steps to prevent their sexual harassment. Let us tell you that in many major cities of UP like Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, and Kanpur, a large number of women work in companies. In many companies, women’s shifts remain at the night as well, whereas, in many companies, women have to work till late at night. Many companies provide cabs to drop women at home, while there are a large number of companies where women do not get the facility of cabs. In such a situation, women have to take the help of public transport. During this, many such cases have also come to the fore where incidents of molestation have taken place against women. This decision of the government is expected to curb crimes against women at night.
